SUPPORT TO THE KEY COVID-19 HOTSPOTS

IN NORTHERN UGANDA

Amuru district in northern Uganda currently has the highest number of confirmed cases of infection. The main hotspot is Elegu boarder point. It is the boarder entry and exit point in Uganda for South Sudan

The neighbouring districts of Gulu, Lamwo, Nwoya are vulnerable because of their proximity to Amuru. They could easily record high rates of infections if the health and safety guidelines are not well implemented.

As a response mechanism, VISO distributed Face masks ,  Hand washing facilities, disinfectants and liquid soap to all the health centres, community resource persons and local partners in Amuru, Nwoya and Gulu district to protect and prevent spread of COVID-19.
